🛡️ Using a VPN? Turn It Off While You Use Snap360

Using a VPN? Turn it off in Snap360 to keep the 360 photo booth app from failing when syncing, loading the gallery or generating the QR of your 360 videos.

VPNs and Snap360 Don't Get Along

A VPN routes your entire connection through a remote server, often in another country. For browsing it can be fine, but for an app that uploads and syncs heavy videos in real time like Snap360, it's a source of problems: slower connections, mismatched regions and drops in the middle of syncing.

Typical Symptoms of Using a VPN

  • The Virtual Gallery doesn't load or only loads partway.

  • The sync gets stuck or runs extremely slowly.

  • The QR or the video take much longer than usual to generate.

  • Payment errors in the store (the VPN's region doesn't match your account's).

  • Odd behaviors that appear and disappear for no reason.

The Snaper Rule: VPN Off While You Use Snap360

  1. Check whether you have an active VPN: on iOS, Settings › VPN (or the "VPN" icon in the top bar); on Android, Settings › Network & Internet › VPN (or the key/lock icon in the bar).

  2. Turn it off before recording, syncing or paying.

  3. Fully close Snap360 and open it again.

  4. Retry what you were doing.

What If the Venue's Network Has a VPN or Restrictions?

Some corporate, hotel or event-venue networks force their own VPN or block services. If you can't turn it off, the most reliable solution is to switch to your phone's mobile data during the event.

Remember: if the problem continues after removing the VPN, message us through this same chat telling us which network you're using and we'll look into it with you. And only if our team explicitly tells you to for a specific case, use a different setup.
